This August, Film Forge invites aspiring filmmakers, actors, and creatives to join our Summer Intensive Programs at Nu Boyana Film Studios in Sofia, Bulgaria. More than a series of courses, this is a unique opportunity to experience the reality of filmmaking from the inside.

At Film Forge, we believe filmmaking is best learned through experience. That’s why our summer intensives are built around collaboration and practical work. You don’t spend your days sitting in classrooms; you become part of a creative community where every department contributes to bringing a story to life.
Throughout the program, students work together on the production of a short film while learning from experienced industry professionals and mentors. You experience the same workflows, communication, and collaboration found on professional productions, gaining insight into how different departments come together to create a film.

Assistant Directing
August 3–28
Learn how productions are organized and managed. Work closely with a director and crew members while discovering the vital role Assistant Directors play in bringing a project from schedule to screen.
Acting
August 3–28
Explore screen acting techniques, scene preparation, and on-set performance while working alongside a complete film crew during the production process.
Camera Operator
August 3–28
Develop practical camera skills and learn the language of visual storytelling through hands-on exercises and collaborative filmmaking.
Wardrobe
August 3–28
Discover how costume supports storytelling, character development, and continuity while working within a real production environment.
Stunt Course
August 17–28
Experience the fundamentals of stunt performance for film, including movement, choreography, camera awareness, and safe execution of action sequences.
An International Community of Creatives
One of the most rewarding aspects of the Film Forge experience is the people. Each year, participants come from different countries, backgrounds, and creative disciplines. Some are taking their first steps into the industry. Others are looking to expand their skills or explore a new department. Together they form an international filmmaking community where ideas, experiences, and friendships are shared both on and off set. Many participants arrive as strangers and leave with a professional network that extends far beyond the program itself.
