From June 27 to July 8, 2022, we had the honor of hosting an unforgettable two-week course “Intro to Film”, led by the one and only Martin Campbell, the legendary director behind some of the most iconic action and thriller films ever made: GoldenEye (1995), Casino Royale (2006), The Mask of Zorro (1998), The Legend of Zorro (2005), Vertical Limit (2000), and The Foreigner (2017).
“If I was going to film school, what I would want to learn would be preferably with teachers that were directors, that have been through the process, and just to give as much insight into what I have to do to become a director,” shared Martin in our interview.
Just imagine what an incredible experience it was to learn directly from such a renowned filmmaker: to hear his stories, understand his process, and discover how he approaches directing, planning, working with actors and crew, and bringing scripts to life.
Throughout the course, students didn’t just attend his lectures, they also had shooting days under Martin Campbell’s personal guidance. It was an unforgettable opportunity to experience the realities of filmmaking alongside a true master of the craft.
And here’s something truly exciting: after the course, one of our students was offered the opportunity to work as Martin Campbell’s assistant in Bulgaria, ahead of the production of his upcoming film Dirty Angel.
